Decolonizing our spirituality.
Born and raised in the Black church with Caribbean roots, Mazda has been spiritually serving her community for more than 20 years. Like many Black Christians, Mazda spent years trying to reconcile her connection to a Eurocentric view of God with a desire to connect with the spiritual practices of her ancestors. Today, Mazda teaches others how to decolonize their spiritual beliefs by showing people that many of the traditions and rituals we perform at home or in church are actually rooted in African Traditional Religions (ATRs). This talk is perfect for anyone looking to further explore the connection between Christianity and ATRS and who want to learn more about decolonizing everything we’ve been taught about spirituality.
